VHDM-Sacred Dance Patterns

The basic designs of these sacred dance patterns have been used successfully for seventeen years by the dance company at the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem and by many Christian dance groups worldwide. (As many as a hundred different nations are represented by pastors elders and church groups at the Feast in Israel. I have had countless pastors, pastors' wives, and worship leaders thank me for my sensitivity to costuming for the Christian dancer.) The attire made from these patterns is proven multi-cultural, interdenominational costuming for Christian/Messianic Dance. I attribute much of the international acceptance of my ministry and Christian dance in general to modest costuming . Take these basic designs and then add your own variations!

Each of the patterns offered by Valerie Henry Dance Ministries come in one size. Patterns either have different cutting lines for different sizes or, as in the Feast Dress, there are instructions for altering the pattern pieces to have a customized fit. In order to make the most efficient use of your material, the pattern pieces should be measured against the dancer before any material is cut. You will probably want to adjust the length of the Culottes, Feast Dress, and Circle Skirt to have a custom length. This adjustment may also change the lay-out of the pattern pieces on the fabric, especially with shorter dancers.
