About Valerie Henry

For twenty years Valerie Henry has pioneered the field of Christian dance worldwide. She has used dance in performance, worship, education, and missions work as she toured extensively in the US, and other nations of the world. During those years, Mrs. Henry has worked and served in France, Latvia, and the Ukraine, as well as South Africa, Zimbabwe, Singapore, and Malaysia. A significant part of her ministry has been in Jerusalem, Israel where she has served for 17 years as the principal choreographer and soloist for the Christian celebration during the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem's observance of the Feast of Tabernacles. At this large, interdenominational festival, where over 100 nations are represented, Valerie has helped to develop Christian dance on an international level and further developed her multi-cultural choreography and teaching.

Mrs. Henry served for fourteen years at The Church of the Good Samaritan (Episcopal) in Paoli, Pennsylvania as the founder and director of the Good Samaritan Dance Choir. For the past few years, she has been serving as a guest artist and teacher at The Wesley Institute for Ministry & the Arts in Sydney, Australia.

Mrs. Henry received her BA with honors from what is now the dance department of The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and was honored with a student fellowship there for two years of graduate work in performance and choreography. Valerie has also continued to study choreography with Dr. Nadia Nahumick (Dean Emeritus of the university’s dance department). Valerie loves sharing with people of all ages the Good News of the Gospel and how Jesus has touched her life. Her concerts include scripture, personal testimony and both classical and contemporary music. Many are drawn during these concerts into deeper worship and a better understanding of God’s love for them.
